New Case Study Reveals How SOA Can Help Major Financial Institutions Manage Risk.
Financial institutions around face ever-increasing risk from volatile markets and stringent guidelines. This new case study reveals how Service Oriented Architecture helped one leading financial institution in the UK manage and mitigate risk.
London — April 11, 2010 — Integrella, a leading UK business integration consultancy, have recently completed a project with a leading UK investment bank in implementing SOA standards to help manage risk.
Since the sub-prime crisis the global banking sector has become increasingly volatile wherein uncertain market conditions and ever-stringent requirements such as Basel III contribute to the challenge of risk mitigation. As a result, risk assessment and management has become a defining issue for top banks and financial institutions worldwide.
The bank approached Integrella with several key issues that they hoped to resolve through SOA and other technological means, such as simplifying the complexity of integrating numerous front and middle office systems across London, New York, Hong Kong, Johannesburg and Sao Paulo, overhauling traditional approaches to data integration that typically consume huge amounts of energy and resources, achieving accurate and effective risk capture, and more.
By working with Integrella, this bank was able to achieve these goals by implementing SOA standards into their business solution. Integrella provided integration of numerous front, middle and back office systems, including Murex GTS, Murex EQD, Front Arena, Spectrum and Asset Control. They also created an Enterprise Service Bus architecture that provided much-needed flexibility and support to the client, as well as real-time integration for intra-day calculation of risk.
The client’s project manager was quoted as saying: “The project went live on time and within budget, which was an achievement considering the strict timeframe to deliver by the end of 2008. Without the Integrella contribution it is questionable whether this would have been the case.”
